This 3 day/2 night safari into Sossusvlei is perfect for those that don’t want to camp. Departing from Swakopmund on Fridays, this 3 day tour spends the weekend in the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world, before returning to Windhoek on Sundays. An action packed itinerary with stops at the Tropic of Capricorn, Big Daddy, Deadvlei, Sossusvlei, Dune 45, Sesriem Canyon, and the Solitaire Carnivore Conservation Centre whilst still finding some down time to relax by the pool. Accommodation is in twin share rooms with en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning, with stunning views over the Naukluft Mountains and Namib Desert.

Day1: Desert Camp, Namib DesertDeparture is from Swakopmund at 12 noon and we will we drive through the Namib Desert via the Kuiseb Canyon and Solitaire and stopping en-route at the Tropic of Capricorn for a leg stretch. A light lunch will be provided which will be available in the vehicle and you can help yourself. We arrive at our camp late afternoon and have a chance to relax and enjoy the views before taking a short walk for sunset looking over the Naukluft mountain range. Overnight is based in twin rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities. Dinner is prepared by your guide over an open fire. Meals: Lunch & Dinner |

Day2: Desert Camp, Namib DesertPre dawn departure from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise. We drive down an ancient river bed surrounded by towering sand dunes to the 2 x 4 parking area (approx 55km) and take a 4x4 shuttle into Sossusvlei where we can appreciate the beauty of this place in early morning light and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the region. We explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees scattered around, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. We can either walk or take the 4x4 shuttle back to our vehicle. En-route to our accommodation we will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune if we wish or just wander around the base. We return to Sesriem and visit Sesriem Canyon on foot before arriving back at our lodge late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Day3: WindhoekLeisurely breakfast before heading to Solitaire. Solitaire has a sanctuary for cheetah that cannot be released back into the wild because of various reasons. Enjoy a 1 hour drive in a 4x4 vehicle with an experienced guide for an educational tour where you can learn about, and photograph these beautiful animals. We return to Windhoek via Bullsport and Rehoboth, arriving mid afternoon where you will be dropped at your accommodation.
